Ocean Avenue

About Us

The OARC is a volunteer collaborative of committed neighborhood residents, merchants, and community organizations, that meet regularly to provide vision, oversight, and coordination of ongoing and future improvement efforts on Ocean Avenue.  The Steering Committee additionally acts as a primary point of contact for City Agencies, volunteers and other groups looking to engage in commercial corridor revitalization.

The Ocean Avenue Revitalization Collaborative’s goal is to revitalize the Ocean Avenue commercial corridor by increasing cleanliness, promoting the shopping district (particularly among the large student population in the area), supporting the existing businesses, attracting resources for physical improvements, monitoring important development projects along the corridor, addressing safety concerns, building community pride, and coordinating the work of community groups.

This program supported by the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development through the Neighborhood Marketplace Initiative, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and local contributors.

Monthly Community Meetings:
Our meetings are held every 2nd Wednesday of each month at the OMI Senior Center (1948 Ocean Ave.).  These meeting are open to everyone in the community.  For more information or confirm meeting time and location, just [contact us].  It is a good idea to let us know in advance of your attendance so that we can plan to order enough food for everyone as we do provide dinner at the meetings.
